Nursing is a complex field that is absolutely crucial to our society. From emergency medicine to assisting at surgery, nurses play a critical role in our health. If you are pursuing a career in this area, you certainly know how dependant it is upon math and science knowledge, as well as strong organizational and study skills. It can be difficult to keep track of every miniscule detail you learn, but it is these details that can mean the difference between life and death in a clinical setting.
Whether you are just beginning your first nursing course or readying for the NCLEX, 大象传媒 can be of assistance in helping you gain the knowledge you need to be successful in a clinical setting. Recent Nursing/NCLEX Tutoring Session Notes
During this session, I continued to review a data matrix for the student which consisted of reviewing 10 scientific articles related to medication errors in the field of nursing. I read the remaining six of ten articles and made relevant changes and corrections to the matrix in specific areas like sample size reporting, measured outcome variables, and pertinent results from data. Once the student makes relevant corrections, this assignment (Part 1 of 3) will be completed. Our goal is to have all three parts of his assignment completed before this upcoming weekend.
We went over the material from last time, which included psychiatric medications, lab values, compartment syndrome, and autonomic dysreflexia. Then we continued our conversation about appropriate positioning of patients for various diagnoses and went on to cardiac medications. We did a brief overview of anticoagulants, thrombolytics, antiplatelets, dopamine, digoxin, antihypertensives, antianginals, and antilipemics. The student did a great job following along and processing the information.
The student worked on central tendencies. If he keeps reviewing the review sheet he was given, I'm sure he'll do fine. He had some trouble on standard deviation, but he seemed to be getting the hang of it at the end of the session.
Today, the student聽and I went over fractions (multiplication, reducing, addition, subtraction), because he has an upcoming test focusing on fractions. He seemed to enjoy fractions and really got the hang of changing fractions to mixed numbers and vice versa.
The student reviewed composite functions today and applied them to SAT practice problems. We reviewed deriving a linear equation from a table of values and the rules of fractions and exponents. We completed a non-calculator SAT practice test together, and she reviewed math concepts involved as needed. We talked through test taking strategies during this practice as well.
We reviewed answers to some of the questions the student missed in his most recent practice test. Before our next session, he will do a shorter practice section, grade his questions from today, and go over several concepts including four physics topics I assigned (work and energy, waves and periodic motion, light and geometrical optics, and atomic and nuclear structure). He should continue to make and review flashcards for the science sections.
