Pathology Tutoring FAQ

Pathologists are known in medicine as the doctors' doctors. True to this title, pathologists interact with all different kinds of clinicians, interpreting everything from neurosurgical biopsies to dermatological issues. Because of the diversity of the field, every pathology class tends to cover an enormous amount of content. You will be asked to understand the mechanisms of disease that underpin disorders of every major organ system. If that doesn't sound intimidating enough, many of the interpretations will be based on histological preparations that demand a confidence in histology that many students lack. Are you finding that every pink pathology slide looks pretty much like the one before? Are you looking to brush up on your histological interpretation before jumping into a pathology class head-first? No matter your goals, ΄σΟσ΄«Γ½ can help you connect with a pathology tutor anywhere in the country.

Pathology tutors have excelled in their advanced coursework in the subject, and many are professionals in the fields of medicine or research. They have not only taken the pathology courses, they mastered the content to score above and beyond. ΄σΟσ΄«Γ½ can match you with tutors who have earned the highest scores who can teach to your learning style and have had success with students in the past. In conjunction with the educational directors at ΄σΟσ΄«Γ½, you can create a student profile that allows tutors to assess your needs with a quick look.

I am very proud to report that the student received his quiz score back and he received a very stellar 95! It prides me that he is learning so efficiently and is believing in his ability as a student! Since we had completed all of the coursework up to that date, we began working on his exam study guide; we completed all of the questions and terms related to cardiovascular and pulmonary systems. We will review the functions of the digestive system in our next session.

In our session today, we went over the second half of the student's final, taking time to go over the differences between organism, risk factors, transmission, treatment, and challenges related to tuberculosis, malaria, and HIV. We worked on research skills by finding primary articles related to an essay he has to write as a part of his final. The student seemed to understand most of the material.

The student brought two biology sheets to work on. The first sheet was about evolution: natural selection, selective breeding, allele frequency & genotype frequency. The second work sheet was about the ecosystem and the different biomes. The student seemed to understand most of the concepts. She's doing really well!

The student and I discussed what he was working on in biology, including preparation for his field trip and larval midges. Then, I answered any questions she had from her review for the AP Biology test. We reviewed covalent, ionic, and hydrogen bonds as well as Van Der Waals forces. In addition, I explained signaling cascades, chemiosmosis, and ATP hydrolysis.

During today's session, the student and I worked on biology. First, we did an overview of human biology, covering cells, tissue, organs, and organ systems. Next we covered various body systems in more detail; we discussed the intricacies of circulation, the inner workings of respiration, and also the details of digestion. I was able to clarify a few questions for her, and we made good progress. Overall, it was a very productive session.
