I have a Master of Arts in Education from Pacific Lutheran University, where I also received undergraduate degrees in Global Studies, Chinese Studies, and Scandinavian Area Studies.

My strength is especially in writing, and using the written word to authentically convey whatever it is that you want to say, to whatever audience.

I have been a tutor and ELL teacher and language arts teacher for a number of years. I am known for my patience, my willingness to work with all kinds of students from various backgrounds and learning styles, and my interest in getting to know students for who they are.

As a teacher, I care about building trusting relationships and individual coaching.

My personal philosophy is that learning is teaching, and teaching is learning. We work together. And, if you have a question, that means someone else does!

As a language learner myself, especially who studied Mandarin Chinese to an advanced level, Spanish, and Norwegian, I have an especially strong empathy for those learning a new language and navigating the culture as well.
