Educators or Tutors are like candles that shine the light in the dark for the students that they help. This analogy resonates with me in many ways. One of the many ways that it resonates with me is that it describes my experience as an educator and tutor for the past seven years. As an educator I am passionate about helping students grasp complex topics in and outside academia. I believe that by helping students grasp these complex topics in and outside academia I am helping them navigate through the darkness of the world.

My experience as an educator/tutor started out in college. As a college student I tutored my fellow colleagues in subjects such asBiology, Mathematics, Calculus ,Pre-Calculus, Chemistry and Statistics. After I graduated college I went on to work in an afterschool program in Brooklyn. In this afterschool program I tutored students in subjects such as life sciences, and Algebra. Later on I went on to work in different charter schools as a Science Teacher. As a Science teacher I taught subjects such Middle school Science, Biology, Chemistry and Introductory Coding. My journey as an educator has been interesting and educational. Through my experience I've mastered how to deliver instruction using different learning styles. I've also learned how to make learning fun and engaging. My experience also makes me a great candidate to tutor biology, computer science, chemistry and various math courses. Overall my favorite subject is Biology because I believe that the more we learn about biology, the more we learn about ourselves and the world around us. Outside of academia I like to exercise and participate in fun activities that keeps the body moving because I believe movement is medicine. In many ways I incorporate movement in my lessons. Through research and personal experience I believe people learn best through movement.

I received my Bachelor's in Science from Pace University. At Pace University I majored in Biology and Mathematics, also I minored in Chemistry. Currently I am working towards finishing my Master's in Science Education and eventually I look to get my PhD in Kinesiology.
