What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe that teaching and learning are a collaborative effort. A powerful teacher knows how to guide a learner, in tandem, towards development and improvement.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Before jumping into any material, it's crucial to establish common ground with my students. If a relationship of mutual confidence cannot be built, we cannot hope to make meaningful progress!
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
I can help students become independent learners by guiding them in digestible increments towards full autonomy. This might include building a schedule and learning organizational techniques.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Helping students set long-term and short-term goals is a great way to keep motivation up. That way, I can help remind them how the hard work they are doing is contributing to their overall success.
