I'm Asami. I am a second year graduate student at Central Connecticut State University in TESOL program. I graduated from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies in Japan in 2015 with a BA in Polish studies. Learning English and Polish made me realize how fun it is to be able to communicate with people from other countries. I have more than 4 years teaching/tutoring experience of English (to Japanese students), and 2 years tutoring experience of Japanese.

As a native speaker of Japanese who was born and raised in Japan, I can teach both the language and the culture.

Through my learning experience as a TESOL student, I learned a lot about teaching English. Since I learned English as my second language, I know what is difficult to non-native speakers of English well.

I chose my undergrad major (Polish studies) because I love Chopin. I've been playing the piano since I was 4 years old, and received several awards at competitions including Silver Award for elementary school grade 3 at the 4th International Chopin Piano Competition in ASIA.
