Tutoring review by Bao-Han in Audubon, NJ
We covered equations of parallel and perpendicular lines. Extensive practice with factoring trinomials/ FOIL-ing method. The student completed the previous session's assigned homework (different forms of linear equations) to near perfection. He seems to have grasped this concept. He needed help the most in today's session with factoring trinomials with leading coefficients that were not 1. I assigned two practice worksheets related to factoring and one related to parallel/ perpendicular lines.

Tutoring review by Isabelle in Audubon, NJ
I gave the student two assessments of numerical fluency, which she passed easily. I quizzed her on both addition and multiplication facts using a deck of cards as a random number generator to make it a little bit more fun. Like usual, she and I reviewed homework in her workbook and corrected it. I found that she is much more accurate when she rewrites the problem on lined paper giving her room to work. I suggested she do this during quizzes and tests and go back and rework calculations since she said she often has time left over. When we began reviewing the next night's homework, I did a lot of instruction in number sense, explaining what the numbers and operations mean. We talked about divisibility rules, and I showed her why they work. We also explored different equivalent ways to write fractions and decimals.

Tutoring review by Brianna in Audubon, NJ
Today the student and I met in the open anatomy lab. We went over the anatomy of the brain that he learned in his Tuesday lecture. He also brought in pictures that he took in his anatomy lab, and we labeled them to make makeshift quizzes. He says he sometimes has trouble visualizing the 3d model versus what is drawn in the book. I suggested printing out the pictures he took, and I think it really helped him connect the two together. He did an awesome job. We will pick up next week with reviewing the brain anatomy and continuing work on his study guide.
