San Jose HSPT Tutoring FAQ
The High School Placement Test (HSPT) is taken by students in grade eight and used as a factor in many private schools' admissions process. The HSPT consists of 300 questions and it takes approximately two and a half hours to complete.
The traditional HSPT is made up of five sections, including reading, language, math, quantitative skills, and verbal skills. The reading section is made up of reading comprehension and vocabulary. The language section focuses on capitalization, spelling, punctuation, and grammar. The math section is similar to the quantitative section, but it consists of algebra in addition to arithmetic and geometry. The quantitative skills section consists of arithmetical numbers, geometry numbers, geometric and non-geometric comparisons, and number series. The verbal skills section covers verbal classification, logic, analogies, antonyms, and synonyms.
It is also possible that your child may be taking a version of the HSPT with additional section. If this turns out to be the case, the additional sections may include science, mechanical aptitude, or Catholic religion. If these sections are added, your child could have more time to complete the exam.
If you want to try to help your child perform their best on the HSPT, you should connect them with a private tutor. The educational directors at 大象传媒 are happy to try to help your child find an independent, professional HSPT tutor in San Jose, CA.
We could help your child find San Jose tutors to help them hone their HSPT skills to potentially improve on their exam. In addition to assisting them to review material that will likely show up on the exam, their tutor can aid them in identifying what study method will work best for them.
