Certified Tutor
I recently graduated from Baylor University, where I studied Spanish, biology, and biochemistry, and I am currently studying for the MCAT with hopes of attending medical school. In my time at Baylor, I served as the supplemental physics instructor for fellow undergraduate students, along with serving as an ESL teaching assistant and tutor for the Baylor Spanish department.
I love to tutor both Spanish and physics: subjects that can seem daunting to students, but that unveil a certain beauty about the world around us. Spanish is valuable to me because it opens up the possibility for communication with new people, and the nuances found within the language are beautiful and complex. I enjoy showing students that, rather than being intimidating, physics can spark our curiosity and give us a more well-rounded understanding of significant scientific discoveries.
My high school physics teacher changed my life for the better, so any opportunity to follow in his footsteps of encouraging students to feel capable and supported is an honor. I would consider my tutoring style to be fairly relaxed and focused on the fundamentals. When students find clear understanding on basic conceptual ideas, manipulating those ideas to solve a problem becomes a manageable task.
Outside of my academic interests, I enjoy attending concerts and spending time outdoors. I also love to travel and have visited 45 of the 50 states!
