We've had the BEST experience with VT! Our tutor has helped my middle schoolers math grades come up from a D to an A for our 8th grader and from a D to a B for my 6th grader. I'm beyond pleased with how she connected with my boys.

The student and I finished her latest chemistry assignment on molarity and molality. 聽We talked about the concepts of the mole, Avogadro's number, and concentrations. We learned that concentrations can have almost any units imaginable and that molarity and molality are special types of concentrations expressed in specific units. 聽By the end of our session, she did a great job identifying what the concentration applicable to specific problems and converting between concentrations. Our next session will be Tuesday.

The student is great at understanding new concepts and has the potential to perform very well with enough practice. We absolutely need the textbook next time because I would really like to assign her homework from the book to prepare her for the test. We covered the sections that would be on her quiz the next day and solved several pages in her worksheet packet. I would like her to bring her last quiz and test so we can go over that during the next session.

Started on her geometry test review packet today. Had to review some of the earlier materials, such as identifying concave, convex, equilateral, etc. She's very strong at her algebra to find the lengths and such. Overall I'd say she's looking like she's in pretty good shape for the test next week.

The new vocabulary words were: lugubrious, cacophonous, slander, incorrigible, eloquent, agile, and toil.
