I am deeply passionate about helping students. I firmly believe that education is the cornerstone of personal and societal growth. The joy I experience when a student grasps a concept for the first time is rewarding and inspiring. This knowledge that I can make a lasting impact on their educational journey fuels my dedication to teaching.
Throughout my career, I have held various roles working with students. I have created and executed lesson plans tailored to diverse student needs, integrating technology to enrich learning experiences. I also have experience teaching virtually, conducting online classes across different grade levels and developing engaging curricula while upholding high educational standards. Having started my teaching journey in 1988, I have taught at both elementary and high school levels, each experience contributing to my deep understanding of effective teaching strategies and student needs.
I earned my Bachelor of Education and hold several Ontario College of Teachers' Qualifications, including Primary, Junior, and Intermediate Division in English and a Reading Specialist qualification. These qualifications and years of experience have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide a high-quality education.
I tutor subjects primarily on English language learning and literacy, including ESL, reading, and pronunciation. My favourite subject to tutor is ESL because I enjoy helping students overcome language barriers and seeing their confidence grow as they become more proficient in English.
My teaching philosophy centers around creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment where all students can meet their potential. I believe in the power of interactive teaching methods and technology integration to support diverse learning styles. My tutoring style is patient and adaptable. I focus on meeting students where they are and guiding them toward their goals with encouragement and structured support.
My love for exploring cultural activities balances my commitment to modern education. This interest helps me bring diverse perspectives and fresh ideas into the classroom, enriching the learning experience for my students.
