I am a Simon Fraser University graduate with a major in Communication and a minor in Sociology. As well, I have TEFL accreditation and diplomas in Family Counseling and Life Coaching. Over the years, I have travelled to various countries and lived overseas which has taught me to be adaptable to different cultures.

I am friendly, encouraging, and kind, but also firm. I have over 5 years of experience teaching and coaching English in academic settings, in businesses and online in foreign countries, and one of the things that gives me great joy is to see the people I coach and tutor improve and succeed.

My goal in tutoring English as a Second Language is to help students overcome any feelings of intimidation or self-consciousness to feel confident speaking and expressing themselves in English. I learned Spanish years ago and it took me a while to become fluent, so I am aware of the difficulties one has to face in learning another language.

My class will be a safe space to help students feel comfortable while also challenging them to improve. In class, we will have fun learning and speaking English! While I will have lessons prepared, I am flexible to adapt to my students' needs if they prefer to work on something different than what has been planned.
