Philosophy of Education Statement
Education is truly the key to success. As an educator, I have the responsibility to lead and guide students to the highest educational level possible by encouraging them to strive to exceed all expectations. I strive to share my skills, knowledge, and educational background to assist my students to the best of my ability. I truly believe every child can learn and with a little encouragement from caring adults, especially teachers, they can reach unthinkable heights in education. My goal as an educator is to help my students reach their highest potential in life and realize they can set goals and live the life they dream of and that all things are possible.
As a Career, Technical, Agricultural Education (CTAE) teacher, I introduce my students to real-world, work-based concepts they can use in the workplace. In teaching marketing and management, entrepreneurship, and business courses, I have the privilege of introducing my students to the basic concepts of marketing and business as well as advanced courses that allow my students to start small businesses and school-based enterprises. I am very passionate about marketing and the world of business and love every minute of sharing my knowledge and skills with my students. I strive to make my lessons interesting, fun, interactive, and most of all challenging. I also allow my students the opportunity to learn in a diversified classroom environment where I offer differentiated learning activities and class assignments.
Every student has a different learning style and it is ultimately the instructor's responsibility to identify the learning style of each student. As a teacher, I use pre-assessments, personality tests, and other related resources to determine the learning styles of my students. I offer differentiated activities and classroom assignments to my students based on their interests, learning styles, backgrounds, and personalities. As a result, I can reach my students at their levels and assist them with excelling at new educational levels.
Education is a powerful tool for children and adults and I am a self-proclaimed life-long learner. I look for new ways to learn something different every day. I love reading, exploring, and researching something new as often as possible. Learning is very exciting and I believe it is a teacher's responsibility to ignite the spirit of learning in every student he or she encounters through the educational system. Students want to learn, even if they appear to be disinterested. They are waiting for someone, especially teachers, to open their minds and lead them down the path of new educational experiences. There is nothing more fulfilling than to have a student tell you that you have changed his/her life through education.
Educating our youth for the future is an ever-mounting responsibility for parents, teachers, administrators, and community members. It will take collaboration between all involved to ensure all students receive a quality education. I am a committed, dedicated educator willing to do my part to lead our youth into a successful future.
