LGBTQIA+ SAFE SPACE TEACHER.
Welcome to us being great partners in helping and guiding your child in their studies in English, English for Speakers of Other Languages, and Japanese.
After completing undergraduate research at Osaka University before graduating from the University of Washington with lots of time on the Dean's List, I spent 6.5 years working in Japan as an English as a Foreign/Second Language teacher in both public school and private language schools. I also have experience teaching and tutoring Language Arts, Reading Comprehension, and Grammar.
To be a teacher is much more than lecturing in a classroom. Effective teachers approach instruction like coaches do. They set clear goals that connect to student's experiences so that their learning has clear connections to student lives. They provide their students with the tools and opportunities they need to identify their learning gaps and overcome them. They foster a collaborative atmosphere together with their students so that goals can be reached by all.
