What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that all students learn differently. I will work with your child using the techniques that work the best with their learning style.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

A typical first session would have the following agenda:

I. Introductions: tutor, parent, student II. Academic Performance Conversation: where is the student currently III. Goals Conversation IV. Create a Plan V. Begin Tutoring

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

Students can become successful independent learners when they discover how they best intake information. I will help the student develop techniques that make learning seem natural and enjoyable.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

I will help a student stay motivated by establishing realistic goals and celebrating every success along the way.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

I will try teaching the concept using different techniques.

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?

Reading comprehension can become easier to tackle when the associations and patterns are broken down. I empower students who are struggling by teaching them how to quickly identify the associations.
