Certified Tutor

I grew up in the Olathe, KS and attended the Pembroke Hill School. During high school, I was the captain of the soccer team and president of the environmental club. After high school, I chose to attend Harvard in order to pursue a degree in Neurobiology and Spanish. During my time at Harvard I have continued playing soccer with the Harvard Club Soccer team. In addition to playing on the club soccer team, I also have become and a certified EMT and served a member of the Harvard Emergency Medical System. I am passionate medicine and plan to apply to medical school.

I have always enjoyed teaching. During college, I would tutor my friends in Calculus and Organic Chemistry, both to help them prepare for exams and to master the material myself. Last summer, I was fortunate enough to teach a pharmacology class to 15 Kansas University students. Yet, I am comfortable not only with college students, but with high school, middle school and even elementary school students. I am especially comfortable tutoring ACT Science and Math, as well as any math and science academic subjects. My consistent math and science workload in college has made me confident of my mastery and ability to tutor these subjects.

Outside of academics, I am passionate about global health and helping underserved communities. I spent a summer working in Kisumu, Kenya on a malnutrition project and I plan to work in Nicaragua on a project focused on bringing clean water to underserved communities in the future. In my free time, I love playing and/or watching basketball or soccer, hiking, camping and spending time outdoors in general. I also enjoy watching movies and documentaries. Some of my favorite movies are Finding Nemo, Lord of the Rings, and Elf.
