Hello, I graduated from Queens College with an English degree and a Business minor. I have been on the Dean's List for several consecutive semesters and was the recipient of an Honors in the Humanities scholarship.
Currently, I work as a college English tutor at CUNY Queens College's Writing Center. At the Writing Center, I have tutored everything from ESL students to the mentally challenged. I have also been a private tutor for high school, middle, and college students for the past three years. For five months, I also was a volunteer tutor for Reading Partners, which helps young children who struggle with their reading and writing. My specialties include essay editing, grammar mechanics, reading, literature and writing development.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I guide the student towards the right answer. I want them to try to work it out by themselves, but with assistance.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I would outline their strengths and weaknesses regarding a certain subject first.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
I would do that by giving them hints and not a direct answer. I'd only help them if they got something wrong twice. They need to try to figure it out by themselves first.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I like to give positive reinforcements through compliments and reminding them of their progress.
