I've been a private tutor for more than five years, specializing in Reading, Writing, and English as a Second Language (ESL). I have lived and worked in South Korea for three years, tutoring business English, conversational English, Reading and Writing for young children, and elementary and middle school math. I've also worked with elementary and middle school children in Atlanta, specializing in English, Social Studies and Math. My teaching style uses what the students are interested in and goes from there. I try to think of problems and examples that students can relate to and that will benefit them as opposed to outdated and uninteresting examples. I will work as hard as the student, but as such I expect my students to work hard or else they will not see results. Though I think students are responsible for their own work, parent involvement is also crucial in motivating the student forward.
